A team is like a basket full of bananas if one gets rotten then the rest will automatically get affected. Teams are the backbone of every organization. They are the ones who meticulously stitch and alter until the final product is perfect.
I can relate to the joy – of course, on a smaller scale. Producing my first carpet gave me such happiness and a real sense of accomplishment by making me realise the importance of teamwork in an organization. But there were many who thought my goal of working with local artisans to create hand-made rugs was a foolish idea.
This was my dream and I was not going to let it fade away. Hard work and perseverance proved my detractors wrong, as a result my organization grew like a tree with its branches spreading in various directions.
Importance of teamwork in business
I alone cannot take credit for my success. A concerted team effort by various people led to the fulfillment of my lifelong dream. The collective effort of my artisans and other employees who not only worked hard to create beautiful hand-made carpets but also made sure we did it in the right way is how I define success. Teamwork in business is the underlying key to its growth.
Trust is the basis of any relationship. In order to incur the best of results we need to trust our team of employees. Give them the freedom to think and act. They will automatically come up with a lot of ideas and possibilities. Something similar happened at Jaipur rugs too recently.
Due to a lack of infrastructure, the initial days of lockdown were a little hazy for the tech team at Jaipur rugs. The sudden shift to work from home was indeed challenging. However, our tech team invested their heart and energy to deploy systems at homes so that the users could start working but the problem was not over. Infinite queries were asked by the users which the tech team answered with patience. This went even beyond office hours but the effort they put to maintain the workflow is applaudable. This paints a clear picture of the importance of teamwork in an organization.
As a team this also took their knowledge graph higher. As leaders we should nurture trust among employees like that of seeds. As we sow, so shall we reap.
Of course, there will always be differences and disagreements when a diverse group of people work together. But out of this controlled chaos emerges a signature symphony that is worth the mission at hand – whether that mission is going to another planet or simply working to level the playing field for the underprivileged.
